Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they lift and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider could be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machinery made specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could function in smaller aisles. They are extremely handy pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
