Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable machines which allow work to be completed effectively, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the machinery and its parts. System diagnostics are offered in multiple languages. On the Z-80/60 unit, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for improved performance at higher altitudes. Also, it carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
The full-time positive traction and 4-wheel drive ability adds better traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just offers four-wheel steering. Optional features on this specific model include crab, coordinated, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. On the Z-80/60 the full-time active oscillating axle helps improve wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features really make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to operate on irregular terrain.
Genie's engine-powered articulating Z-booms are bigger than any other Genie models. They feature a continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs which are designed to give the user a much better range of motion and reach. The Z-boom design gives the models outstanding over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed mechanism utilized for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is only 2.46 meters if the axle is stowed. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
