Various Classes of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a particular type of heavy machine that enables employees to be lifted into the air. These machinery could be used to perform repairs and maintenance in places which are high up in the air such as on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Similar to nearly all devices, there are different models of aerial lifts which can be utilized to perform different jobs. For the utmost safety, every kind of different kind of equipment needs right training and specific qualifications prior to operating it.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are often known as Genie lifts. They are considered the most basic form of aerial lift. These lifts are made of a platform which is lifted up using pneumatic power and are mainly utilized indoors. Usually, scissor lifts are the safest type of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts could be driven similar to big carts. Normally, when the platform is extended, they could not be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone could use these devices, employees need to be licensed as operators.

Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a a lot more complex pieces of aerial lift equipment compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift normally has a much wider base to keep the lift anchored. It utilizes a jointed arm that has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box located in the bucket which allows the operator to lower and hoist the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it could move from side to side too. The boom lift looks like a tail of a metal scorpion. Traditionally, it is utilized in outdoor construction applications. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, therefore, operators need to be certified individually for these kinds of lifts.
