Forklift Tires
When it comes to installation types, there are two types regarding forklift tires: press on and standard. Normally, press on tires are utilized on electric forklifts and those types of forklifts operating in indoor applications such as warehouses. The press on tires can also be used in light industrial application too.

Standard tires are mainly utilized on forklifts that operate in outdoor environment or where rough or uneven surfaces require more traction and tougher tires.

There are a lot of different kinds of forklift tires just as there are lots of different types of forklifts. The types of tires which are most commonly utilized are solid, polyurethane and pneumatic. The kind of tires are dictated by what and where the forklift is used for. It is crucial to acquire the correct tires for the job and ensuring the correct choice will have a big impact on both performance and safety.

It is better to use pneumatic tires on outdoor forklifts which function in an all-terrain environment like on construction sites. These are constructed out of tough rubber and then filled with air, similar to a truck or tractor tire. Pneumatic tires create an air cushion between the forklift and the terrain. This design significantly lessens the wear and tear on the machine and creates a really comfortable ride for the operator. The tire's deep, thick treads provide the necessary traction needed for use on surfaces which are uneven and rough.

Solid tires are best suited for both light industrial indoor and outdoor applications. They are fabricated out of tough, constructed solid rubber. This helps them to stay safer from blowouts, popping like pneumatic tires or damage due to puncture wounds. As these tires are not filled with air, they could not provide the cushion effect. This fact makes them unsuitable for use on rough terrain. Some solid tires are made with holes in the sidewalls to provide a somewhat softer ride. The only issue is that this kind of construction makes the forklift's load carrying capacity less.

The polyurethane forklift tires will typically outlast both of the rubber tire designs but are designed for indoor warehouse use only. The load capacity of polyurethane is a lot higher than that of a rubber tire. These tires work great with well with electric forklifts due to the additional weight of the batteries of the equipment. Because of the tire's less rolling resistance, another benefit of this type of tire is the longer battery life.
