In the year 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case established Case in Racine. He began making threshing machines. The business later gained global recognition as the first builder of steam engines for its agricultural application. Case grew their construction equipment company through various acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation during 1957. During 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for marketing several of the world's top brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
