How to Correctly Use a Lift truck
Forklifts are material handling machines which could transport cargo. Most commonly, these machines are utilized in some industries to transport heavy supplies in a wide variety of settings such as airports, supply companies and warehouses. Anyone operating a forklift must be taught to cautiously use the equipment. It is critical to be fully aware of one's surroundings when operating a forklift. Lift trucks are designed to run on gasoline, propane, batteries or diesel. Typical lift trucks are common in a wide range of commercial applications and are not hard to operate with proper training. The following steps outline the fundamentals of using a forklift:

1 Familiarize yourself with the levers which would be used to maneuver the load and to transport the object from one place to another. The levers can be found to the right side of the steering wheel.
2 The first lever controls the down and up movement of the blades. Pushing the lever away from you moves them down and pulling the lever towards your body moves the forks up. Blades must be kept near the ground except when unloading or loading.
3 The other two levers control the tilt and the left/right movement of the forks. The forks are designed to tilt between 15 and 30 degrees. It is recommended that you practice before picking up a load. Using the second lever, push it away from your body to tilt the forks forward, and pull it towards your body to tilt the blades back.
4 The third lever is moved side to side to control the movement of the forks from left to right. Just move the lever towards where you want the forks to move: right to move the forks right and left to move the tines left.
5 Cautiously approach the load. Lower the forks and drive forward cautiously until the forks slide under the cargo. After that lift the tines several centimeters by pulling the lever towards you. If the cargo is top-heavy, you have to tilt the forks backwards a small amount for balance.
6 Alert other people and employees when the forklift is approaching by honking and take safety measures by slowly taking corners and honking. Approach the area where you would be working cautiously. Manipulate the levers to maneuver the cargo to where it is going. When the load is positioned, reverse gears and cautiously back away.
7 A forklift stops the same way as a car. The brake is found to the left side of the accelerator. Once stopped, shift the gear into "park."
